The Queen's Baton Relay

The Queens Baton Relay was held today on the Prom at Barry Island. The Relay race takes place all over the world prior to the commencement of the Commonwealth Games. Despite the rain crowds turned out, and watched as the Queens Baton was passed amongst the school children. Celebrities such as Welsh television Presenter Lucy Owen, and Barry Towns own hero, the World IBF featherweight Champion Lee Selby helped carry the Baton, as well as Mr John Nethercott who was a gold Paralympic medalist in 1992.
